Newcastle Law Centre offers a unique specialist Employment law service to people living in Tyne and Wear and the North East. We provide help to employees with all aspects of employment law, including:
We particularly specialise in discrimination law, providing assistance for people who otherwise may not be able to access it. Cases we have dealt with include: sex discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination, and age discrimination. This is a complex and dynamic area of law and we assist many clients who would otherwise get no representation or assistance. The work is funded by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
Please contact our office to arrange a specialist appointment if you need employment law advice.
We also facilitate monthly appointments only LawWorks pro bono employment law surgery for one-off employment law advice on first Tuesday of every month (6pm-8pm) in partnership with Northern Rock in-house lawyers. Please contact our office for making an appointment if you would like to attend the surgery.
Please note: We can offer one-off advice to people in the local area, but if you want the Law Centre to take on your case we probably would need to apply for funding from the Legal Services Commission (LSC) and we can only get it if you qualify for legal aid. Make sure that you bring evidence of your income to the first appointment (wage slips, benefits letters, bank statements etc. for the last month) so that we can assess your eligibility. You can also check if you are eligible for legal aid in here.
