About Us
"Our model of legal support makes us stand out from the rest - we care about our clients’ situations and will help them as much as we can, through our free or affordable services."
Our Services
"One of the greatest challenges to accessing specialist legal advice is that people don’t always recognise that their problem has a legal resolution. Providing people with specialist legal advice quickly so that we can support them to resolve their problem remains a priority for us."
Support Us
"Without your support, we simply won’t be able to provide the range of free and affordable services that we do to the local community, you, your family and friends."

NELC Publishes 2017-18 Annual Report

NELC Publishes 2017-18 Annual Report

We have now completed our Annual Report for 2017 -18.

We have achieved a great deal for our beneficiaries during 2017/18 and developed a number of new services for the future.  We also have several new projects starting in 2018/19 most of which are aimed at increasing access to justice for our beneficiaries.

We are now well positioned to increase our acts of assistance going forward.  We have started to add to our unrestricted reserves in this year, and we will consolidate on progress made with our paid-for advice services in Immigration and Family law, and these will continue and be developed further in 2019 and beyond to increase our unrestricted reserves.

We will continue to diversify our funding streams whilst expanding our services throughout the region in line with our wider regional remit by continuing to explore appropriate additional funding. A key priority has always been to establish of a permanent base in Sunderland, and we have now achieved that in part with our new legal aid contract that commenced in September 2018.
