Immigration and Asylum

North East Law Centre provides specialist Immigration and Asylum advice to Newcastle and North East residents.

The level of advice that we can provide will depend on individual circumstances as well as our funding.

We do not hold a Legal Aid contract. If we think you may be eligible for Legal Aid, we will signpost you to an appropriate provider.

Tyne and Wear Residents

If you are a refugee or asylum seeker and you are not able to get legal aid we may be able to help you via the North East Refugee Law Project.  The project is funded by LLoyds Bank Foundation to provide a range of legal services to unrepresented Refugees and Asylum Seekers resident in Tyne and Wear who are ineligible for Legal Aid.

Newcastle Residents

We provide approximately 30 minute, one-off advice session at our office for Newcastle residents on immigration and asylum matters.

Please ring the office to make an appointment: 0191 230 4777

Appointments are in high demand and you may need to wait for an appointment. These appointments are funded by a grant from the Newcastle Fund and we are only able to offer a limited number.

We are not able to cover any Home Office charges, costs of translations or any other fee as part of this service.
